I have to say I am rather amazed at the lack of response so far from Adobe,
bring back Macromedia .One could get the idea that Flash's days might be numbered and what a pity that would be, Silverlight?. Reminds me of the british throwing away their world leading motorcycle industry due to lack of investment and development. |

I know (everybody does, after all we've had plenty of glimpses) that there's a
lot of effort going into flash player 10. I suspect (but don't know) that if there is a 64 bit flash player in planning that it won't be until (or after) Flash Player 10 is released. To me this makes sense... simply because a lot of large corporations are slow to upgrade because of their IT policies. If they have migrated to 64bit OS, it would also be great to see them using the latest version of flash player by default ( if it's the only option for their 64 bit OS, because the older players are not). If a corporate user has already upgraded to a 64bit OS they're probably adventurous enough to keep up with the latest flash player anyway I guess. Anyway this is just speculation, but it seems that it would make business sense from Adobe's point of view (even if you don't like the impact on you at the moment - which I can understand too). And who knows... maybe we'll find out for sure soon.... (one can hope). |
