Any error message or warning window pops up? By the way, some sites simply have incorrectly set up detection methods. For example, seeking flash player 7 or flash player 8 version 1.3 Even tho you have no and compatible player, incorrectly made detection script won't allow you to open the content. Not player problem, it's the designer problem. -- Best Regards Urami -- "Never play Leap-Frog with a Unicorn." <urami> If you want to mail me - DO NOT LAUGH AT MY ADDRESS </urami> |

I have this same problem. In both IE 7.0 and Firefox 5.0, when I try to do
something that requires Flash 9.0 ( graffitti in Facebook, streetview in Google Maps, whatever) I am told I need to upgrade. I have upgraded many times now. Each time, the installation is "successful" - I see the confirmation flash movie (In IE) or the installer completes successfully (In firefox). But then when I head back to the site, it still says I need flash 9.0, as though nothing has changed. This is an identical problem on two browsers. I have tried restarting a couple of times now, but it did nothing. This is really damned annoying because I've installed flash just fine in the past - ever since version 6. What could I be missing? |

Alright, I'm an idiot. I have Firefox 2.0, not 5.0. Anyway, I managed to get
IE working by reinstalling Java before trying the Flash installation! That didn't work for FF though. This is really pissing me off - no one's even trying to . Not in this or other forums. C'mon everyone, what the hell is going on? |

If it was general issue, then perhaps someone would bother to look into it but such post as yours comes here once in a couple of months. 1 out of (approx) 3000 other posts. Taking under consideration the huge range of hardware specs, software and it's minor sub version, from operating system to browser, plug ins, 3rd party tools and your other applications it's literally impossible to find cause of such issue. There is so many ways to get stuff conflicted or corrupted with another. Honestly, it's a waste of time playing guessing games. Go to adobe.com/support/flash and read all the player troubleshooting tech notes. All we can suggest at this point. Also, take note that bumping post does not bring it to the top of the forum, most of us use News Readers, not browser based forum. We see the posts by the other they come in and bumping your post by replying to it, only make it look answered. Hence more likely to be skipped by others. -- Best Regards Urami -- "Never play Leap-Frog with a Unicorn." <urami> If you want to mail me - DO NOT LAUGH AT MY ADDRESS </urami> |
