I graduated from the graphic design BFA program at RISD in 2006.
While there all GD students were required to purchase an Apple laptop that came with a suite of design programs including CS2. I have a serial number for the CS2 suite, but not one specifically for Fireworks. I am now considering purchasing Fireworks CS4 for personal use. Is an educational serial number valid for upgrading? If so, is it just for the entire CS suite, or can I piecemeal it and just get FW? |

Hi
As far as I am aware one of the conditions of the "Educational Discount" product is that you cannot use them as an upgrade path. If you bought a suite, you'll have to upgrade the entire suite. I presume
you've got the Web Standard or Web Premium suite? You cannot upgrade individual components of any suites. My understanding is that Adobe does permit you to upgrade from the Educational version to the Commercial version paying the upgrade price. But you should contact Adobe Customer Service to confirm. -- Regards John Waller |

Bummer. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and shell out full price.
Wish I could try the CS4 version before I buy it. |

You can. There will be demo versions available. Typically a few weeks after
the CS4 starts shipping. |

You can, just wait for the trial to become available. Or if your only
concern is Fireworks, download the public beta. digsafe wrote: > Bummer.
