New to this forum. I have used Dreamweaver and Fireworks for almost a year,
more recently now as I have a client that is eager to change their web pages. I have the gif files (but not png extensions) that I see have probably been sliced, and I am a beginner at slicing. I need to change the text and logo and also the two shades of green on the logo gif and change to blue. I am able to change the blue part but I have to do this with all the gifs of which there are about 7, plus the navigation gifs which number 10 or more. Since I don't have the PNG file, I am wondering what route to take? I have been studying the things to do with Fireworks in slicing and using various tools, reading and watching videos. However, I am finding that I am spending a lot of time and also learning, which is a good thing, but I need to get this project moving so I don't lose the client in the process. |

Without seeing the page, I can't say for sure, but I suspect you'll need to recreate it from scratch to get the best result. -- Linda Rathgeber [PVII] *Adobe Community Expert-Fireworks* -------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.projectseven.com Fireworks Newsgroup: news://forums.projectseven.com/fireworks/ CSS Newsgroup: news://forums.projectseven.com/css/ http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ -------------------------------------------------------------- |

Thanks Linda,
Here is the link of the site they want to model. http://portland-counseling.com/ I have been successful changing the colors, except the navigation, but I can recreate the rectangle buttons easily. It's the header gif that concerns me: http://portland-counseling.com/images/site_bg_head.gif. I need to replace the logo, the text. They also would like some movement either text or pictures, but that will be done after I get the main graphics worked. |

Who created the graphics for them. Could it be possible to get the graphics
from them? -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "bdtcomp" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g2judg$o7t$1@forums.macromedia.com... > Thanks Linda, > > Here is the link of the site they want to model. > http://portland-counseling.com/ > > I have been successful changing the colors, except the navigation, but I > can > recreate the rectangle buttons easily. I asked if the PNG files were available but the guy that has a client with the above site doesn't have any ideas about the source files.

I'm with Linda then, recreate them. Most times it is not as hard as it
seems. bdtcomp wrote: > I asked if the PNG files were available but the guy that has a client with the above site doesn't have any ideas about the source files. |

I think you are right Alex. I have recreated the header gif. The original is:
http://portland-counseling.com/images/site_bg_head.gif I have some blue color and a logo. But I am having trouble rounding the upper left corner, as it is rounded in the html page part at the bottom. So I have 3 sharp corners and one rounded. But I know that making the arcs can't be that difficult. I am learning as I am a developer more than a web person but I am finding the web creating part very interesting and rewarding. You can look at my header at: http://bdtcomp.com/insightforlife/indexbeta.html I have more work to do on it, but my part is the blue, and the original is the green. |
