I'm building a website in Dreamweaver CS3 for a band that wants to sell their mechandise through the website (albums, tshirts, etc). How in the world can I do this?

If you are asking this question, the simple, practical answer is "you
can't". Building an ecommerce site is not something you can easily do
without heavy preparation in server scripting.

I belive you need to hunt up a shopping cart software if don't want to code it yourself.

The easiest, in my opinion is to set up a shopping cart account through a 3rd
party service such as PayPal, or Google. They can handle credit card
processing, for around 3% through PayPal, and 2% via Google, I believe. Of
course there are many others out there. Just search on "online shopping cart".

After setup, you would then enter item details via a Web-based app, which
would then generate HTML that you would then copy and paste to plug into your
site.

really, the easist way it to use the free cubecart - it's amazingly easy to
install and run, and you can even get templates to change its look - I used a
free template on a client's site, and customized it to fit their look.

You can drop it into an iframe if you need it within the main site.
