I have a frameset with just a topframe & mainframe. Is there a way to have
another web address (home page) automatically open in the mainframe without having to click on a link. I have my information in the topframe and want another web address to open in the mainframe when my page (frameset page) opens. Thanks! |

Source that frame to the external site you want to appear there. Be aware
of the following - 1. You will get the entire home page in that frame, including its navigation 2. You will get this provided the other site hasn't blocked you from doing this (which sometimes happens) 3. Frames suck large boulders. You will need to rethink your layout plan if you don't want to inherit many problems both for yourself and your visitors. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "Promoman" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g4e1ik$cl9$1@forums.macromedia.com... >I have a frameset with just a topframe & mainframe. I hate being stupid but how do you "source the frame"?

> I hate being stupid but how do you "source the frame"? open the frameset file. dw menu->windows->Frames (or press shift+F2) click on the desired frame in the mini-representation of the frameset in the Frames Window. The Properties Panel now shows the properties for that frame. click the folder icon next to the SRC line, and browse to the file you wish to open in that frame. -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ |

See, here's the thing. You are asking questions that imply that you have
never worked with frames before. If we can stop you before you have commited to them, then we will save oodles of posts when you discover one-by-one the issues that you and others have with this arrangement. Any chance of that? If not, then Alan's response is right on.... -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "Promoman" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g4e34j$ed5$1@forums.macromedia.com... >I hate being stupid but how do you "source the frame"? |
