! Just upgraded to DW CS3 on OS 10.4.11.
I've read through some old posts on synchronization and couldn't find an answer to my problem, which is that DW is changing the file modified date on our remote server to the upload time and day instead of keeping the actual modified date of the local file. I don't want this to happen. Can someone tell me if there is a setting or preference to keep the local file assets intact? I have turned off synchronize and cache options in the site definitions and it doesn't seem to . When I leave synchronize checked DW says local files haven't been modified in over 2 years! ! |

> When I leave synchronize checked DW says local files > haven't been modified in over 2 years! ! Is the local time on the webserver correct? Are you or someone else using some other software to access/upload files to this hosting? -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ |

We host our own site but I am just the front-end person maintaining the site
content. Earlier I spoke with our tech guy who maintains the back-end and who installed the upgrade for my Mac, and he did not know why the times would be different either. He was busy with another problem so I cannot find out if the local time on the server is true or not, but I'm guessing it is correct because DW is changing all the files I upload to the time and day of the upload. We had this problem before when I went from 8 to MX and I think it was a setting problem but I can't find anything in preferences to fix it. Sure is frustrating. I am 99% the only content manager but occasionally the tech guy will change a file and the only way I can tell that is to check the remote info but now it's different than my local file so I don't know which is right. Ughhh!!! |

This is how DW works. It has ALWAYS changed the timestamp to correspond to
the GMT setting on the server. I don't think you can prevent that. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "pword69" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g4b85r$6md$1@forums.macromedia.com... > !
