Hi,
Using Dreamweaver 8, when I set up a page with frames, (Fixed top, nested left) and I insert one of the dreamweaver flash buttons into the nav bar, it doesn't load the linked file into the mainFrame, instead it opens a new window. The same occurs using Flash Text, even though I have correctly set the target to be the mainFrame. If I use normal text in the nav bar it works perfectly fine. Can someone please ? Thanks |

Frames and flash buttons? The best I can give you is a plea to not use either. Frames are an antique that create more problems than they solve. Flash buttons are a mistake from the get-go. Must you use them? -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "as332" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g345ab$2hu$1@forums.macromedia.com... > Hi, > Using Dreamweaver 8, when I set up a page with frames, (Fixed top, nested > left) and I insert one of the dreamweaver flash buttons into the nav bar, > it > doesn't load the linked file into the mainFrame, instead it opens a new > window. > The same occurs using Flash Text, even though I have correctly set the > target > to be the mainFrame. > > If I use normal text in the nav bar it works perfectly fine. > > Can someone please ? > > Thanks > > |

Try it with the page uploaded to a server.
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flash/9.0/main/00001180.html note this paragraph: Security note: In Flash Player 9 and later, when code in a SWF file that is running in the local-with-filesystem sandbox calls the getURL() function and specifies a custom window name for the window parameter, the window name is transfered into a random name. The name is in the form "_flashXXXXXXXX", where each X represents a random hexadecimal digit. Within the same session (until you close the containing browser window), if you call the function again and specify the same name for the window parameter, the same random string is used. Short translation: the target attribute will not work during a local preview F12 in dreamweaver. It should work on upload. But might not, because the flash text and buttons are using a much older version of flash actionscript.... Also note- the next version of dreamweaver will not have "Flash Text" or "Flash Buttons" included with it. -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ |
