Bad news - trashed my Windows Registry beyond repair; Good news - all my data
was backed up. After spending more time then I should have trying to restore or repair registry, don't even think about asking!, decided it would be less expensive, considering time not working to buy new hard drive and use the former hard drive for data backups. So I am starting to install my programs on new drive.... Just installed Macromedia Studio 8 and downloaded and installed the 8.02 update. My question is how do I transfer my site definitions and other settings from what is now my D: drive to my new C: drive? Much thanks if anyone can advise. |

Bad news. The site definitions were all stored in the Windows Registry. If
you cannot boot from the old drive, you may not be able to get at them. I always periodically EXPORT all of my site definitions to some replaceable media to guard against just this problem. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "tymeme" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g2uknr$2dr$1@forums.macromedia.com... > Bad news - trashed my Windows Registry beyond repair; Good news - all my > data > was backed up. > After spending more time then I should have trying to restore or repair > registry, don't even think about asking!, decided it would be less > expensive, > considering time not working to buy new hard drive and use the former hard > drive for data backups. > > So I am starting to install my programs on new drive.... Thanks Murray, but why didn't you tell me that BEFORE I trashed my registry?
You can be sure that after I set up everything again, the first thing I do will be to export the settings from the registry. |

USE DW's Site Manager to do this.
