I built a site for a client using CSS for the layout. The client wants to do
her own updates with Dreamweaver MX. We've found that the layout does not show in Design View, so she's doing minor updates in code view (which she's comfortable with). A secod site she manages was done with tables and displays properly in Design View. Can I assume that the problem is just that MX does not display CSS layout? She needs an answer so she can ask her boss to spend the money for an upgrade. -Jesse |

CSS display improved markedly as of DW 8. Even better with CS3.
I would be hesitant to give a client Dreamweaver however .. I would rather recommend giving a client Contribute. -- Nancy Gill Adobe Community Expert Author: Dreamweaver 8 e-book for the DMX Zone Co-Author: Dreamweaver MX: Instant Troubleshooter (August, 2003) Technical Editor: Dreamweaver CS3: The Missing Manual, DMX 2004: The Complete Reference, DMX 2004: A Beginner's Guide Mastering Macromedia Contribute Technical Reviewer: Dynamic Dreamweaver MX/DMX: Advanced PHP Web Development "JesseLY" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g2orog$d4k$1@forums.macromedia.com... >I built a site for a client using CSS for the layout. If I were going to give a client DW, I would surely not give them DMX.

Thanks, Nancy.
The client has been using Dreamweaver for quite some time and is comfortable with it, and even html. It's mainly used for pretty simple updates, so Contribute is probably overkill. Besides, she's wondering if her boss will even give her the money to upgrade to current DW, let alone Contribute. :-) -Jesse |

Yes .. I agree.
![]() However .. I would still recommend Contribute for a non-webpro. I think the upgrade to the current DW is $199. Contribute is $169.

I'm not giving the client anything, other than the web site. I'm encouraging them to upgrade to CS3.
