Hi,
I made this http://geekministry.com/FormBuilder/ which is now up and ready to be tested. I hope the page is clear enough. I would really like to know if it worked for you, suggestions to improve, suggestions to work flow etc. I'm also interested in which browsers/OS it works in. BTW... if you would want to test the output (I hope you do) you need a php enabled hosting facility and a JS enabled browser. I've not gotten around to add the css yet and I need to clean up a few bits in the source before primetime so in case you want to build a form for your *live* website please hold your breath for a week or so. This is just final testing... Thank you -- Kim --------------------------- http://www.geekministry.com |

I can't seem to insert labels for text fields, radio buttons, checkboxes, or
select list. Although with radio buttons I can make the buttons themselves. And nothing shows up at the bottom. Tested this in both the latest versions of Safari & Firefox. Is this page supposed to be working yet or are we just looking at the layout? |

Oops, didn't realize fields were required and I skipped over the one for
security which disabled the rest of the form. Seems to be ok. You should put something to denote which fields are required. Also you should tell people when typing in the page names that they need to put in the extension of the file whether it be .htm, .html, .php etc. Seems to work ok now. |

Hi,
>You should put something to denote which fields are required. I did but perhaps I need to make more visible? Anyway... at the start of the page I've this text "Fields marked * (asterisk) are required fields" and the required fields are marked * > > Also you should tell people when typing in the page names that they need to > put in the extension of the file whether it be .htm, .html, .php etc. I believe I do... "Type the name of the page where your form will go into the "Form page" text field. Don't use http, www or domainname in this field. (Want to use your newly created form as a contactform it would be logical to write contact.php in that field) If you wish to have a "Thank you" page enter the URL of your page in the "Thank you page" field. Leaving this field blank means "Your message has been submitted!" will be displayed above the form after the form has submitted." but if that is too cryptic I would be happy to change that into something less cryptic because it does sound a bit /foreign/ (Ireally mean it... English is not my native language you know) > > Seems to work ok now. Thanks for looking. > > -- Kim --------------------------- http://www.geekministry.com |

For clarification, I was only going to suggest that you that the extension must
be .php next to where the user has to enter the data. And with the requried field I must have overlooked that. I was trying to be the most novice of user going through it and must have overlooked that one *. Overall, I like the tool and it seems pretty easy to use though. But going through it more thoroughly I would only have two suggestions. First, I would improve the drop-down list for a couple reasons. First there is no deleting option if you mess up other than to start over and second because there is no way to re-order the items. Also if you have two lists, there is no way to select between the two and change items at least from what I can see. The only other omission I see is a Subject for the form. I think that part should be user editable. And if I had to make one suggestion for this form if you wanted one more improvement I would say to make the example box float. Now I realize you have not implemented styles and what not, but I just think it would put your tool over the edge if you could float that layer on the right hand side while the user scrolls up and down. This is just a suggestion and I don't think it is necessary, but to a novice I would believe it to be ful. Great work though so far. When this project goes live you should post about it here so that the experts can give this link to people who want a quick, simple form. |

OK... maybe some validation on this field. > > Overall, I like the tool and it seems pretty easy to use though. But going > through it more thoroughly I would only have two suggestions. If I figure out a way to do this it will be in next version. and second because there is no > way to re-order the items. Not unless you want to fiddle with the outputted html/php... Maybe I should spell it out loud that you have to be careful when you plan your form. Not much different from DW IMO. > > The only other omission I see is a Subject for the form.
