I'm getting a dialog box that says:
Error accessing file "C:\Documents and Settings...My new website\Templates\main_Temp.dwt" : File not found(Error code 2) Any ideas why its giving me this because the file that is named above isn't anything to do with the file that I'm currently working on, and its even in a separate folder! Its starting to become very irritating as it doesn't update any of the work when the dialog box appear. :sad; |

Do you have a page open in DW that uses that template?
Try again by closing ALL pages, then only opening the one you want to work with. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "Damian Quinn" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g2lc0j$bc5$1@forums.macromedia.com... > I'm getting a dialog box that says: > > Error accessing file "C:\Documents and Settings...My new > website\Templates\main_Temp.dwt" : File not found(Error code 2) > > Any ideas why its giving me this because the file that is named above > isn't > anything to do with the file that I'm currently working on, and its even > in a > separate folder! Yes, I've done that with the Support at Adobe's UK HQ, and it now works. But I'm still confused why it does that.

When you make a change to any template controlled page, thereby invoking the
DW template engine, that engine scans ALL OPEN PAGES for changes. If you have a page open that is actually from ANOTHER site, then DW will try to find that page's template within the current site, triggering the error message. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "Damian Quinn" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g2lo8e$pfa$1@forums.macromedia.com... > Yes, I've done that with the Support at Adobe's UK HQ, and it now works. > But I'm still confused why it does that. |

What happens if the file that its trying to search for is in the entirely different folder and it isn't to do with the site that I am creating? How can I stop it from happening again?

By not having files from another site open while you are working in this
site. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Adobe Community Expert (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources ================== "Damian Quinn" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g2m25k$6rt$1@forums.macromedia.com... > What happens if the file that its trying to search for is in the entirely > different folder and it isn't to do with the site that I am creating?
