Greetings
I've had Dreamweaver for a while, registered on a computer I've used for a number of years. I've just gotten a new computer and I'm wanting to install the program on my new PC. Thing is, I kept the Dreamweaver CD, but not the box. I'm not sure if I have any license certificate either. How can I install Dreamweaver on the new PC? Thanks |

If you registered DW when you installed it, Adobe should have your serial number.
Go to http://www.adobe.com/ and click the Your account link in the upper left corner. After you login click the View Product Registrations link, and your serial number will be on that page. If you did not register it, your best bet is to try and contact Adobe support. http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/ -- Ken Ford Adobe Community Expert - Dreamweaver/ColdFusion Fordwebs, LLC http://www.fordwebs.com "Flyingmojo" <webforumsuser@macromedia.com> wrote in message news:g1vkaj$nni$1@forums.macromedia.com... > Greetings > > I've had Dreamweaver for a while, registered on a computer I've used for a > number of years. The serial number was put on a decal on the original paper dust jacket for
the CD. -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ |

Well, I moved a few times, so I've lost the dust jacket. I'm a little confused
between activation and registration. I obviously activated it so I could use it, but the serial number is not on the Registration List page. |

Registration = you told Macromedia/Adobe about yourself when you installed the software and/or filled out the postcard so they have a record of your purchase. If they have said record, you can then contact them to get your registration number. Activation = a very annoying technology where Adobe now requires your software to log in to their own databases to 'lock' the install on that one particular machine. Once you activate your software, you can't install it on a newer machine until you deactivate the old one or contact Adobe to have them deactivate it for you. -Darrel |

The Adobe product license agreement allows the primary user to install the product on a primary computer and also on a home or laptop computer for his or her use, provided that the two copies are not used simultaneously. While the activation process supports installing and activating Adobe software on two computers, use of the product on the second computer is restricted to the user who licensed the software. Allowing others to use a second copy of the software violates the product license agreement. http://www.adobe.com/products/activation/ -- ~Malcolm~*... ~* |
