Hello,
I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows XP. It performs fine when I create a web site locally, so I have a local and remote view. But, when I create a site that only connects to another server on our LAN, it is extremely slow. The sites are edited directly on the server so I don't have a local version - the local view is the remote server. It is really slow when saving or even when I switch back to Dreamweaver from another window. Does anyone have any sugggestions I could try? Thank you! Mitchell |

Your best option is to move the files locally.
There are so many things on a LAN that can cause it to slow down. The biggest being just the fact that it is on a LAN. Not to mention network traffic, connection 10/100/1000, server load. You really aren't going to get any performance boost until you move them locally. |
