well, had a look at the vide again. If it were a tape, it would be worn out by
now.... When I amend the menu item, I click OK, the Modify box disappears. The item changes, and I get a 'list items' box. I tried it through a different page. When I clicked on the menu, I got the 'recreate' box. When I clicked it, I got a 'Unable to create a folder for library items under the roor folder of this site.. what next? Re P7 site: I sent a number of emails. I guess that I don't actually don't get a reply to my email, but a reply is posted on the forum? Why does one have to go to various other forums, when here is an 'extensions' forum? should not that be enough? All under one roof, as it were, rather that surfing the web endlessly to get a reply? |

You're not following the Dreamweaver procedures for creating a Library Item or you are not working in a defined site. > Re P7 site: I sent a number of emails. You sent one email on this issue and we sent one reply, to which you did not reply. You have sent emails in the past, each of which has been answered. I'd be happy to post a transcript if you like. > I guess that I don't actually don't > get a reply to my email, but a reply is posted on the forum? Email is email. It has nothing to do with this forum. > Why does one have to go to various other forums, when here is an > 'extensions' > forum? should not that be enough? All under one roof, as it were, rather > that > surfing the web endlessly to get a reply? This is an Adobe forum. We neither work for Adobe nor does Adobe work for us. Moreover, this is not a support forum - it is a user-to-user forum for adobe customers. If you would like to continue posting here then you will need to get volunteer-based from someone willing to do so. If you want to take advantage of one-on-one support then you simply need to use our support channels, which consist of email, newsgroup, and telephone. I posted the email we sent you. If that did not reach you, I would suggest using a different email provider. The pVII team: Thanks for your reply and explanation. My email provider is
one of the most reputable ones in the UK, British Telecoms. You don't get any better... I guess, as I do not have the p7 address in my addressbook, BT filters and dumps the replies to my bulk folder, content of which I delete, without reading, as I am just fed up reading about lotions/potions for penile extension... I have now added p7 address to the problem should not occur again.. Now, back to the topic. I have done as suggested in the video, clicked on the menu item, 'Recreated' it, saved it, Modified-Library-Update paged... it The new additions were added to all of the pages. And it all works a treat... finally..But when I went back and clicked on the menu item, so that I could set the _target for the page, the same 'Recreate' button popped up. There is nothing to recreate/update, as all is current... I wanted to set the _target, so that all the new pages open in self, to avoid a miniscule flash between pages... I have done it this way... Maybe, there is another way to eliminate these flashes? You should appreciate that it's getting rather frustrating. For every step, having to look at a video, rather than scan a single a4 page with pertinent instructions. Maybe, I am just too old fashioned and prefer things written down...Frankly, it would have been a real treat if P7 produced some tech notes. Finally, I do appreciate all the I have got and getting here, but you might appreciate the frustration.... maybe I should have taken up pigeon fancying as a hobby, rather than embark on all the stuff with www... I earned my first IT spurs with MS DOS 1, when evrything was 80 cols wide and 25 rows high...no wizards, widgets, windows etc..just a blank screen with C:/> at the top...web and evrything that goes with it, was not even a dream then... as ever... issue regarding the 'recreation' problem and inclusion of target has been
resolved. I just amended the library menu code with the assets edit option. Included target where appropriate, saved it, updated the whole site and it works OK.. end of saga... |
