Hi,
Recent upgrade of "cups-pdf" package brings my lenny to the following stage: ii cups Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - server ii cups-client Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - client programs (SysV) ii cups-common Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - common files ii cups-pdf PDF printer for CUPS rc cupsys Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - server rc cupsys-bsd Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - BSD commands ii cupsys-client Common UNIX Printing System (transitional package) rc cupsys-driver-gutenprint printer drivers for CUPS ii gutenprint-doc users' guide for Gutenprint and CUPS As you can see, I used to use cupsys-bsd, cupsys-driver-gutenprint and cups-pdf together. Now I don't have cupsys, cupsys-bsd, cupsys-driver-gutenprint any more and I have both cups-client & cupsys-client. How do I get myself out these chaos now? > cupsys-* has been renamed to cups-*. No need to panic. Thanks. I've just upgrade all my cupsys-* to cups-*. They are all the latest versions in lenny. However, I can't find the "Add Printer" button any more on its web page (http://localhost:631/admin). Here is the screen shot: http://s4. tinypic .com/n68fmo.jpg (without space) That's different from what I used to see and the online doc too. Failing this route, I installed foomatic-gui and added my printer there. Here is the screen shot: http://i37. tinypic .com/2d9y07o.jpg (without space) However, the cups web page, http://localhost:631/admin , still doesn't show the printer. Moreover, command line printing tools show no printer either: $ lpc status; lpq -a no entries So, how should I add my printer? Thanks PS. % pconf_detect -m USB -i 0 device=;vendor=EPSON;model=Stylus CX1500 -- Tong (remove underscore(s) to reply) http://xpt.sourceforge.net/techdocs/ http://xpt.sourceforge.net/tools/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
