I shall buy an usb-ethernet adapter for my laptop.

Will works any usb-ethernet adapter with Debian Etch
system?

Which kernel module is for the usb-ethernet adapter:

usbnet, or other?

Any advices will be appreciated!

Chances are that the evice will load automatically, as it is a class
device. Therelevant module is probably cdc_ether .

Hello

usbnet is just the framework for usb networking in general. usually
usb-
ethernet devices use
Symbol: USB_NET_CDC_SUBSET [=m]
Prompt: Simple USB Network Links (CDC Ethernet subset)
and
Symbol: USB_NET_CDCETHER [=m]
Prompt: CDC Ethernet support (smart devices such as cable
modems)

I can't remember the mods name .. erm something like usbnet-cdc i bet.
They best way for you would be to check which stick you could by, note
down
the brand and vendor or whatever you can and google if it will work (;
