Hi all,
I'm running sid with a nvidia xinerama configuration with 2 displays. Is it possible to modify the start icon for eg. icedove so that this apps starts maximized on the right display only and with the "show on every desktop" feature enabled ? Thanks for any hints, Bruno -- bruno@voigt.tv -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmaster@lists.debian.org |

This is the business of your window manager. If you're running metacity... well, you're probably out of luck (but that may have changed, I haven't used it in a while). I'm running XMonad and that's all this is pretty easy, just one line in the config. But as this is really very specific to your WM I'm afraid there's no way of handling all this in a generic way. I'm just curious, are you running debian packaged 0.4 or are you running upstream (0.6?). I ran upstream versions until it got packaged and then switched to the debian version. But now I'm getting frustrated watching them push out more versions that aren't in debian yet... Hey Andrew, I'm using upstream - the newer versions have certain features I really can't miss (especially extensions). I'm quite disappointed about the Debian policy on some packages (even in sid), but that's no deal-breaker for me, since I'm used to compiling XMonad from source anyways. As I'm a Haskell apprentice Ialso like to tinker with the code every now and then, so it's better for me to use the darcs version anyways. Btw. is there any way to speed that process (in Debian) up? Like me making a .deb for the current version and proposing that? (sorry, I'm (again) rather new to Debian - started out with Sarge, but have made some excursions to Gentooand other (non-)distros in the past) Aleks -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHoExlrljAdGQVWuARAnNtAJ9VEgaXh5j+zCn+VksQFw qLpV7OSQCfRXuI visOO3HBTs3fMLMFLKQXztc= =j2p+ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Meh. Hm, I'll try to look into that issue this weekend. I'm in no hurry for the next version I guess as I'm too busy to mess around with tweaking it at the moment anyway.
