Which distribution of Linux are you using? What software is crashing and what are the versions of the software? What steps are necessary to reproduce the crash? Just saying that linux is crashing is a very broad statement and no one can offer you any useful suggestions without more information. hth raju -- Kamaraju S Kusumanchi http://www.people.cornell.edu/pages/kk288/ http://malayamaarutham.blogspot.com/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Sometimes a message will be sent by syslog to /var/log/syslog. Sometimes the log will get written to disk before the crash. Often it won't. A good way to solve this quandry in critical machines is to have their syslog send to the syslog of another box. Its very satisfying to watch the drive light flicker just before you kill the power for real. ![]() A -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHPS9maIeIEqwil4YRAhnPAJ94e5gWqKUXH9Lj6v5CqA ifTuVvegCfbf1T NpvmLLa6wqFCU05jMc9OW+s= =S7gK -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
