This means that the package was installed because it is a dependency of something you asked to be installed, and will be uninstalled if you remove that package from your system. -- David Watson - Debian GNU/Linux Developer david@planetwatson.co.uk, dwatson@debian.org Jabber: dwatson@planetwatson.co.uk Web: http://planetwatson.co.uk/blog -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBGdZPrDeh5nqfWrnkRAnt1AKC+2gCLUMeRmLe7oyh21z TrKAb7XQCg4NHK 9YODg9Y2qqE8UkS6SGeAuZo= =rfGW -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

For instance, the package webmin might have the following synopsis: piAU webmin +5837kB <none> 1.160-2 The four characters on the left-hand side of the synopsis show that the package is not installed (``p''), that it is going to be installed (``i''), that it was automatically chosen to be installed (``A''), and that it is untrusted (``U''). On the right-hand side of the synopsis, the current version and the most recent available version are displayed, along with an indication of how much space will be used by the upgrade. ___ /usr/share/doc/aptitude/README ;-) > Kees -- Saludos -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". [...] Thanks David, that's clear, my mind was pinned on Archive :-/ so there was no room for other meanings ;-) Kees -- backups: always in season, never out of style.
