Hi,
Today i aptidude'upgraded my system, and KMail stopped working. At first i wasn't able to send emails (it complained that can't connect to gmail), I rebooted (today's upgrade was quite large), and now it doesn't load at all (just hanging). P.S. None of KDE apps shows icon in tray area, instead i see a separate window. I believe it's because of gnome upgrade. Any ideas how to solve this (no, i don't want to switch to KDE). You might be caught in the middle of the KDE 3.5.6 -> 3.5.7 transition. Maybe you need to do a dist-upgrade instead of a normal upgrade to complete it. (If you used 'U' in aptitude's interactive mode then you probably did the equivalent of a dist-upgrade already, though.) You can run the following commands to get an idea about the ratio of KDE 3.5.7 and KDE 3.5.6 packages on your system: aptitude -F '%p%?v' search '~i(~Gsuite::kde|~dkde)' | awk '/3.5.7/{print $1,$2}' aptitude -F '%p%?v' search '~i(~Gsuite::kde|~dkde)' | awk '/3.5.6/{print $1,$2}' (Or add "| wc -l" at the end if you want to get numbers directly.) You should also check ~/.xsession-errors after you try to start KMail. -- Regards, | http://users.icfo.es/Florian.Kulzer Florian | -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
