I just did a clean install of etch (congrats and thanks to all those who
made etch happen) but I seem to have this problem: http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/.../msg02838.html I have a 3Com 3c905B that is using the 3c59x driver module, but it will only come up at 10 Mb/s instead of 100. I tried the solution listed in that link, but it doesn't see, to . I notice that that post is rather old though. Is there a different way to set those module parameters now? Is there a better way to solve this problem now? (other than buying a new nic). Thanks -Colin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". (other than buying a new > nic). answering only to the module option part here: modinfo 3c59x shows similar options to what is mentioned in the link. But of course, that doesn't mean that some of them haven't changed meaning. Boot using the DOS disk then run 3c5x9cfg.exe For the 3C905 - that's a standard PCI card if I recall correctly. It may also respond to the 3Com utility disk approach. [3c90x2.exe] You might want to try ethtool and mii-diag to try and establish what settings are used. You may be able to pass command line options into the GRUB boot stanza. > I have a 3Com 3c905B that is using the 3c59x driver module, but it will > only come up at 10 Mb/s instead of 100.
