I'd like to display the waveform of files in X11 -- is there a utility for
doing this? I looked at extace, but it seems to only work with the esound daemon. I'm looking for a command-line tool. Dave -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmaster@lists.debian.org |

Wavesurfer is more sophisticated than a command-line tool, but it might do what you want. You can configure wavesurfer to display just the waveform when you run it by choosing Preferences -> Use configuration -> Waveform.
