Yes, for sure Here is what cat /proc/cpu said => http://nopaste.php-q.net/281168 (cpu cores 2) |

According to intel, this cpu doesn't have hyper-threading. That's probably why you only see to processors. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFF8agCijvYwIbxFwERAvz3AJ99jOm/8WfZyar2d5q5EjhBHRyY9QCeMq9M RMP4Ie/E0yz29mbRjx+xplE= =s/qO -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Anyway, as you probably know, hyper threading is not the same as having a second core. To the best of my knowledge, a dual-core CPU will always show 2 cores regardless of whether it supports hyper threading. I don't think you will see each core twice if they are hyper threaded. - Dave -- Dave Parker Utica College Department of Integrated Information Technology Services Data Processing Office (315) 792-3229 Registered Linux User #408177 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". I saw a /proc/cpuinfo from a Xeon 5060 (dual-core with hyper-threading), you do see each core twice. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFF8bTLijvYwIbxFwERAkNaAJ9LRIwiRF4dfFlbR1ajNc XokHVC1QCeN5wF AiGl7nkERgt0rufIO/052vI= =XKkP -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Thanks for the correction. My mistake. Ben, can you post your "cat /proc/cpuinfo" output for the box in question? - Dave -- Dave Parker Utica College Department of Integrated Information Technology Services Data Processing Office (315) 792-3229 Registered Linux User #408177 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". A P4 HT shows two cores, even though there aren't two physical ones. Cassiano |

Please try to set it up to break lines below 80 characters and not to remove line breaks where they are (microsoft has very bad guess where do line breaks belong, they have no idea about plaintext formattinf and flowed-format messages) -- Matus UHLAR - fantomas, uhlar@fantomas.sk ; http://www.fantomas.sk/ Warning: I wish NOT to receive e-mail advertising to this address.
