Hello,
recently I had a big problem with the net isntallation of Debian 31r4 sarge. I just cannot connect to internet... During the installation i wrote my IP( it is static IP), my gateway, my subnet mas and dns. The istallation could not connect to the i-net, i had errors like "failed to fetch" or "temporary unavailable"... I tried to do it myself. I changed the /etc/apt/sources.list, tried with 3 mirrors from my country, 2 from US and 2 from Germany.. ifconfig seem to be OK, /etc/network/interfaces too.. I just can`t find where the problem is. I would be very greceful if You can me! With best regards! ----------------------------------------------------------------- Çàëîæåòå íà êúñìåòà ñè ñúñ Ñïîðòèíãáåò! -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". If you type 'ifconfig' you should see something ike eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0C:76:5E B:32inet addr: YOUR IP ADDR Bcast:YOUR BROADCAST Mask: YOUR NETMASK if not, try run 'ifup eth0' or verify if the proper kernel module is loaded cheers |

This way you get a basic system installed and then you can address any network issues later with all the needed tools. cheers, Kev -- | .''`. == Debian GNU/Linux == | my web site: | | : :' : The Universal |mysite.verizon.net/kevin.mark/| | `. `' Operating System | go to counter.li.org and | | `- http://www.debian.org/ | be counted! #238656 | | my keysever: subkeys.pgp.net | my NPO: cfsg.org | -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFFtifcv8UcC1qRZVMRAn03AJ4x7mpk/bIF4HEW/nyd8RLfkE4DkwCfaJ+l oF/wjjp4VEETncqCtoCohQY= =ScSJ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
