I've had a long-standling problem where some of my manpages display a few
strange characters. It's still readable but annoying. For example: man sudo ******************************** [snip] SYNOPSIS sudo -K │ -L │ -V │ -h │ -k │ -l │ -v sudo [-HPSb] [-a auth_type] [-c class│-] [-p prompt] [-u username│#uid] {-e file [...] │ -i │ -s │ command} [snip] ************************************ I'm also putting up a jpeg online in case the LANG settings in XNews vs my console again mess it up. http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...uthkey=p8JrTc- 6jA0 [eassier to click: http://tinyurl.com/6dz83x] I've $MANPAGER=more. $LANG=en_US.UTF-8. Any sugesstions? (On a related note: I'd rather have vim as my manpager. I did try MANPAGER=/usr/share/vim/vim70/macros/less.sh but that just messes up the page with a lot of control-sequences. If anybody has a fix for that, that'd be perfect!) -- Rahul |
