Hello,
A new linksys router has been installed and has been set up to block off port 80 after 9:30pm. Is there any way to get round this? I csn still access MSN and FTP etc after this time. Thanks for all your , Rob |

If you are the authorized security administrator for the equipment, then you would know how to change the setting. If you are not the authorized security administrator for the equipment, then you are attempting to bypass the security policy of the organization. If we were to you do that, we would be conspiring with you to you exceed your authorized access -- conspiring, in other words, to assist you committing a felony (in the USA) or indictable offence (Canada.) By and large, our professional ethics do not permit that -- and we would have much to lose, risking being charged with Conspiracy, a major offence in itself. >A new linksys router has been installed and has been set up to block >off port 80 after 9:30pm. Is there any way to get round this? Considering the times you state, it sounds as if the appropriate response is, "When you leave home, you will be able to set your own access policies; until then, your parents have a legal right (and a legal obligation!) to impose those access restrictions they deem to be appropriate." |

If that fails, try keeping your room clean and asking nicely. DS |
