i run sendmail in the FC4.i had installed cyrus for auth.
when i telnet the mail server's 110 port. after i enter the password,it relay like that: user root +OK Name is a valid mailbox pass ******* -ERR [SYS/PERM] Unable to locate maildrop: Mailbox does not exist this mail can send mail outside. even send mail from root@aa.aa to root@aa.aa it can't be received. so what logs i need to look for ? and how i can take this problem. |

This problem has nothing to do with Sendmail. Port 110 is POP3, and Sendmail is not a POP3 server. You should determine what POP3 software you are using and seek assistance somewhere relevant to that software. However, as a general rule it is a bad idea to have mail to 'root' delivered into a mailbox that you access by logging into a POP3 server as root because that is likely to lead to very unsafe behaviors, like sending the root password across the network in the clear or running the mailbox access part(s) of the POP3 server as root. As a result, some POP3 servers will not let you log in as root. -- Now where did I hide that website... |
