right I anm trying to get Ports 25 and 465 to work with sendmail.
Why? Because the other dimwit providers do not knw how to tell their poorly set up SMTP MUA to relay internally or DHCP is breaking the security model of the competitors model. All the same we have to compensate by using port 465 because the other goof says we do not want to be listed as a port 25 spammer. How does one get both port 35 and 465 to working without getting Deferred: Temporary AUTH failure getting in the way? -- Member - Liberal International This is doctor@nl2k.ab.ca Ici doctor@nl2k.ab.ca God Queen and country! Please do not perpetuate its abuse unless there is absolutely no other option for your users, i.e. unless they are using obsolete versions of Microsoft mail clients. Mail submission should be done on port 587 using the standard SMTP-based submission protocol using STARTTLS and AUTH. > Why? Can you turn that into meaningful English? > All the same we have to compensate by using port 465 because > the other goof says we do not want to be listed as a port 25 spammer. That too... > How does one get both port 35 and 465 to working without getting > Deferred: Temporary AUTH failure > getting in the way? Just set it up the right way. Not how you're doing it now. Here's the last free clue I'll be providing you: You need to learn how to ask questions usefully. That means explaining what you're trying to do in careful detail and not just babbling and ranting about how someone else is bad and wrong. It also requires you to reveal things like what exactly you are doing and where exactly you are running into problems. In other words: you MUST be willing to reveal your configuration and logs. If you can't bring yourself to do that, you may simply need to hire competent private instead of continuing to seek free assistance here in your chronically annoying manner. You've been told that here before. I wish you luck in absorbing that clue and finding from someone who has not been frustrated by your stubborn unwillingness to yourself. -- Now where did I hide that website... |
