Hello,
I have a program that communicates with a third-party machine running sendmail. I don't have access to the third-party machine, and I would like to be able to occasionally send a high priority message that can effectively jump to the front of the queue for quick processing. Could anyone please recommend the best way of doing this? Thanks, Philip. |

Well, any SPAMmer would do the same, wouldn't s/he? Ask the admin of the "third-party machine" to arrange something like that. > Could anyone please recommend the best way of doing this? Use Instant Messaging. (Jabber, ICQ, SMS, ...) -ska |

The best legal way? Talk to the admin/owner of that machine. |

I was actually thinking along the lines of increased precedence, can anyone suggest any other features that might please? Unfortunately IM isn't appropriate in this case. Thanks, Philip. |

Sendmail has intricate ways of treating messages with the Precedence: header set. see doc/op/op.txt for more information. Furthermore, the precedence values can be overriden in the sendmail config and spam filters can target it as a spam scoring sign. |
