Hi Everyone,
I'm having trouble with one of our providers for scanning e-mail for spam and viruses etc. E-mails from one of our live servers are sent through them and there are currently delays occuring in e-mail delivery which I need to prevent. To do so, I'd like to configure Sendmail to use our internal SMTP mail server. Can anyone tell me how I can bypass Sendmail's configuration and tell it to use a specific SMTP server? Thanks in advance, Bob |

Hi Everyone,
Looking at my original post, I should probably try to clarify exactly what it is that I'm trying to do. We have a live server outside of our network which is using sendmail to send e-mail from an application that we have running. We are experiencing delays with e-mail that is sent to addresses inside our domain because this e-mail first passes through our scanning provider using details obtained from our domains MX records. What I would like to do is get sendmail to send any e-mail bound for our domain straight to a specified SMTP server, instead of using the standard MTA as defined by the MX records. Currently, there is no DNS server on this box and we'd like to solve this problem without having to install one. I hope this s, Thanks, Bob Bob wrote: > Hi Everyone, > > I'm having trouble with one of our providers for scanning e-mail for > spam and viruses etc. E-mails from one of our live servers are sent > through them and there are currently delays occuring in e-mail delivery > which I need to prevent. You can use mailertable to direct traffic for a domain to a specific server. cheers Erich |
