Hi!
I used MailScanner version 4.24-5 and Sendmail under FreeBSD. Yesterday I installed the latest version 4.56.8 and suddenly noticed a new feature(?). After message gets scaned for viruses it placed into /var/mqueue and stays there for up to 15 minutes (seems to depend on 'MailScanner_queue_time="15"' parameter in rc.conf) before it finally delievered (with the previous version it was delievered immedietly). Received: from ... (... [...]) by ... (...) (Cipher TLSv1:RC4-MD5:128) (...) with ESMTP id md50000210479.msg for <...>; Thu, 19 Oct 2006 16:39:22 +0300 ---------------------------------------------------- Received: from ... (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by ... (8.12.3/8.12.3) with SMTP id k9JDTXLC012510 for <...>; Thu, 19 Oct 2006 16:29:33 +0300 (EEST) ---------------------------------------------------- (envelope-from ...) Received: from 192.168.1.92 (SquirrelMail authenticated user ...) by ... with HTTP; Thu, 19 Oct 2006 16:29:33 +0300 (EEST) Is it still possible to make sandmail to delever scanned messages immedietly as they apper in mqueue directory? --- SY, TVT |

You'll need to find out how often sendmail is set to run the queue - the FreeBSD 6.x system I have here defaults to 30 minutes between queue runs ('/etc/defaults/rc.conf') - you could try overriding that in '/etc/rc.conf' and then restarting sendmail. -Jon |

Have you checked the "Delivery Method" in MailScanner.conf. This should be "batch" or else it will depend on the queue-run parameter in sendmail. -- Peter Peters, senior netwerkbeheerder Dienst Informatietechnologie, Bibliotheek en Educatie (ITBE) Universiteit Twente, Postbus 217, 7500 AE Enschede telefoon: 053 - 489 2301, fax: 053 - 489 2383, http://www.utwente.nl/itbe |
