Par défaut sendmail no network

Hi
I am trying to send a message manually by:
telnet 127.0.0.1
Sometimes it works, but most of the time it ens up
with a message(in mailq):

(Deferred remote.smtp.host.: Network is unreachable)
I can ping remote.smtp.host and nslookup returns it's ip address.
On some of remote.smtp.hosts I can telnet to port 25, on some can't.

When I do an nslookup on 10.1.1.3 which is my machine I get an error.
Same for mymachine.mydomain. Even though I have an entry for them in my
/etc/hosts file.

Could someone plese me as I spent the whole day trying to figure it
out and now I am about to byte myself on the forehead.

Thanks in advance

If your nslookup on 10.1.1.3 fails, check that you have a related PTR in
your revese lookup file for the zone.

What I meant is even though I fixed the reverse lookup, it still doesn't
work.
