Par défaut one account works other doesn't

I am setting up a user (called autoresponder) on "box A"(Solaris
server) who will retrieve his mail from a Mdaemon mailserver and send
an HTML type auto response to the senders. I currently have another
user on "box A" (called getalias) who is able to log on to the Mdaemon
mail server and retrieve his email. I am using fetchmail to retrieve
the mail and I think I read that it uses SMTP to send to "box A" and
sendmail delivers to the local accounts.

For some reason, autoresponder's email gets bounced back to the sender
according to the messages, when fetchmail is executed. getalias
retrieves his mail and delivers it to /var/mail/getalias. Both
autoresponder and getalias have the same directory permissions, and I
am wondering why autoresponder fails to retrieve.

Please point me in the correct direction so that I can complete this
project.

info:
Version 8.12.9+Sun
Compiled with: DNSMAP LDAPMAP LOG MAP_REGEX MATCHGECOS MILTER MIME7TO8
MIME8TO7 NAMED_BIND NDBM NETINET NETINET6 NETUNIX NEWDB
NIS
NISPLUS PIPELINING SCANF USERDB USE_LDAP_INIT XDEBUG

Sol 5.9

Thanks,

Mike D

Still getting error message, "unable to deliver mail to
autoresponder@localhost". message gets bounced back to sender. I
don't get this message when retrieving mail for user getalias. What
would prevent mail from being delivered to this local user?

thanks,

Mike D
