has a great ruby tutorial you can play with - written from within a
web version of the interactive ruby interpreter itself!

Yes, even the name of the man strikes fear into the hearts of those
who would yearn for a lovely, simple life, where nothing is ever
difficult. ;-)

You should definitely check that out first if you haven't already.
