!
I cannot get to my Apache web server over the internet! I have Apache 2 installed on my computer, and I can see the pages fine within my home network. But when I try to access it over the internet, it doesn't work. I have Verizon DSL and I know port 80 is blocked, so I am using Port 8080 instead (I have done an internet port probe, which said that port 8080 is open!). I use dynamic DNS, (scottharper.dyndns.org:8080). I have a Westell 327W Wireless router w/DSL modem built in (came from Verizon). I have set up rules so that all Port 8080 global traffic should be forwarded to my computer (192.168.1.3-Static) as Port 80 local traffic. But whenever I try to access it over the internet, it doesn't work! I've never set up a web server before and I think my configuration files may be wrong, can someone please me to set this up? Thanks! Scott Harper |

Firewalls on your own network? (Router and serving computer) -- If you insist on e-mailing me, use the reply-to address (it's real but temporary). But please reply to the group, like you're supposed to. This message was sent without a virus, please delete some files yourself. |

Put controlled holes through a firewall, don't just throw the whole thing away. Unless, like me, you find it amusing to watch someone's XP get destroyed within a few seconds. -- If you insist on e-mailing me, use the reply-to address (it's real but temporary).
