Par défaut Just got CS3, and a couple of questions

First, is there any good reason to keep CS2 or can I safely uninstall
it? Secondly, can I install the program on my laptop as well as my
desktop? Last month, I attended a workshop in Death Valley, and it was
very convenient to have PhotoShop Elements on the laptop. It would be
much more convenient to have CS3 on the laptop. Thanks for any .

The only reason to keep CS2 is if you need ImageReady since ImageReady
thankfully and finally is dead with CS3. As for the installing on a laptop I
believe you can provided you don't use it on both machines at once.

ImageReady had one tiny, handy, easy to use feature: slice on guides. With
one menu item you could specify any number of rows and columns, and then hit
"slice on guides", images ripped to a folder with the html.

How can one do it that easily in CS3?

Thanks to all who replied. Well, I guess I can safely remove PhotoShop
CS2 (I had already removed Bride CS2, as that kept opening when I
double-clicked a raw file). Thanks again.

well I just got CS3 and was going crazy looking for stuff that was in CS
thinking they moved it to another menu
Well they were the but hidden unless you go to bottom and say show all menu
or you can customize the ones you need often to stay on in preferences

one thing drives me insane so far is no option for
"set selection to layer mask"
I used to use this frequently

I have to keep the channels palette open now and do it there
ANYONE?? maybe a keyboard shortcut I am not knowing?

yes it is there

pull your guides out from the rulers
choose the slice tool (not the slice selection tool!!!)
at the top bar is a button >>choose slices from guides

I never used CS2 version I went from CS to CS3
I was unhappy to lose image ready but all of it is now inside CS3 no need to
switch and so far it seems no features have been lost

some are hidden now

one thing I can no longer see is the EXPORT as SWF (FLASH)

Not a good enough reason to keep the thing.

Imageready actually would place the guides for us - just select the number
of vert and horizon line and it did it. Admittedly, it was good only for
regular sized slices, but I found a lot of use for it.

It is gone. Believe it or not, Adobe just plain kept it out of CS3. Here is
their quote, "If you want to create a SWF format animation, use Adobe Flash,
Adobe After Effects, or Adobe Illustrator"
