Hi all,

I wanted to know whether mysql-5.0.51a.tar.gz is the
latest stable mysql release ? Does the "a" here mean it is an alpha
release ? Is it compatible with httpd-2.2.8 & php-5.2.5.

Nope. Alpha releas is 6.0.4. See http://dev.mysql.com/

there.
