I changed a setting in the BIOS and now Windows SBS 2003 is seeing the hard
drive. I got partitions set and the C: partition formatted. The installation begins. It gets to "Installing Windows" and an "Installing Devices" progress bar gets halfway. Then it crashes to a death screen. The message on the screen is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. What now??? Thanks |

It could be bad RAM, incorrect HAL, bad or incorrect driver, etc.

I ran the memory test...no problems there. I'm using one 2G stick.
I found the Verifier.exe file on another computer. But since it's an exe, I can't boot to it and there's no OS to launch it, so I'm not sure how to make use of it. I just tried unplugging the SATA drive and connecting an old IDE drive. But the BIOS won't see the IDE drive at all. Could I have a bad motherboard here? It's possible you have some bad hardware but I'm guessing incorrect drivers
are to blame. You might try a different operating (Windows XP) system as a test. -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
