I added another DC to my domain. Servers are 2003 R2 and domain is 2003. I
accidentally misspelled the host name when installing it so after it was complete I renamed it. Now I noticed under the domain controllers container it doesn't have the correct name and I cannot manage it. Is there a way to fix this short of re-installing server 2003? |

You can rename a DC in a 2003 domain. The main thing to be concerned about
is propagation of the change. Netdom is the way to do it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325354 If the rename failed you may have something else wrong. I would start with the regular dcdiag netdiag diagnostics to see what it could be, Anthony http://www.airdesk.co.uk "DEI" <dei@nospam.com> wrote in message news:%23EeXijwnIHA.4744@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... >I added another DC to my domain.
