This freeware Photoshop filter meets a need which is often expressed on
the newsgroups, for a filter which can duplicate the look of well-known artists and art styles. Whether it's transforming a portrait into the Wall Street Journal style or echoing the look of the old masters, this filter is guaranteed to make your image look better. A few simple sliders give you incredible control over the look of your image. Give it a try! http://www.tnphoto.com/crfil/ Tom Nelson Tom Nelson Photography |

Very cool Tom!
Will you be shipping any more presets? I'd like to try some other fantasy artists: Guisewite, Wrightson, Giraud, and Aragones would be welcome additions. [...] Thanks for bringing back the oldie and goodie, Tom. 'tis time to accept input from potential customers. May I start by suggesting a slider for degree of perversion with checkboxes to select fetishes. I am working on an automated Artist's Statement generator. |

Funny you should repost the above, or perhaps not given that it is April 1, however I just finished reading a scholarly tome entitled "Creavity" which had twenty-two authors. The editor proclamied that it was the definitive study of creativity, and it was for the book evinced creativity by means of profound contrast: by being uninspired, hackneyed, stiff and overly verbose sholarly ponderings talking to itself and leading nowhere. |

I wonder if the fetish/perversion slider should pop up once Edginess gets past a certain point. Can you have perversion without edginess? (The question answers itself. Porn.) I got this response from Deke McClelland: Very inspired filters -- I like how they work. I particularly like the way the Toulouse-Lautrec setting makes everyone shorter. Oh, and you should see what the Vallejo does to pictures of Grandma -- sexy stuff. --Deke Tom |

To be honest, it does seem that there are fewer postings these days
asking for a filter to reproduce something wonderful. Photoshop users may be getting more sophisticated on the whole. The community may be following fashions in Photoshop itself instead of traditional artists' styles. (Examples: HDR and the Joey Lawrence look.) Also, software such as Painter and LucisArt is taking over from traditional art methods. In any case, if this trend continues I may have to retire the Creativity Filter. T. |
