I'm a new Photoshop Elements user. I'm looking for a newsgroup in which I
can discuss Photoshop Elements with other users. This newsgroup (comp.graphics.apps,photoshop) as well as others I've looked at, seems to focus on the full-blown CS2 and CS3 versions of Photoshop. Is there another newsgroup that focuses more on Photoshop Elements? As an amateur photographer, I don't think I need to spend $600 for the full version of Photoshop. At present, I'm very satisfied with the amazing capabilities Photoshop Elements offers. I bought my copy of Photoshop Elements 6 on sale at Costco for $49.99--that's a bargain price for so much capability. Adobe provides great support for Photoshop Elements in the company's web site. But unanswered questions remain. Is there a newsgroup already established that focuses on Photoshop Elements? If not, perhaps we should create one. Comments? |

If you have specific questions or problems, you'll find more in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forums: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.eeb4f8b/ and subscribe to the 1st, 2nd, and 4th on the list. You won't find much in the way of tips on how to do it better, but you will be able to ask questions about things you don't know how to do. The forums are more of a problem-solving venue than anything else. This newsgroup, and alt.graphics.photoshop, go further into how to do certain things. Since the readership ranges from Elements users to users of different versions of the full Photoshop, you won't be able to do some of the things covered. I have both the full Photoshop and Elements. Many of the things I learn here can be done in Elements. -- Tony Cooper - Orlando, Florida |

Your server may or may not host it, if not use 'news.aioe.org'. They also carry other adobe groups as well as other elements groups. Hope this s. |

I paid the full 180 bucks for Elements 5, and then had Elements 6 come out 4 days later. No refunds - another 180 bucks. > Adobe provides great support for Photoshop Elements in the company's web > site. There is a yahoo group, filled with excellent elements folks. It's been going on for years: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/photoshop_elements/ -- Mike Russell - www.curvemeister.com |

It was a deal breaker but I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it was layers? Anyway, glad your happy with it and that you got it at a good price. Good luck, Ron |

PSE is very powerful and has a ton of very useful features - no sarcasm intended. Ron |

Not a deal breaker for all. >Anyway, glad your happy with it and that you got it at a good price. PS 6.0 retails for $99 from Adobe (I don't know where Mike got such a "deal") and can be found for $50 to $60 (legit) without much trouble. You can buy 5.0 (legit) for about $40. -- Tony Cooper - Orlando, Florida |
