The answer you have been given is for a different problem. The publishing
progress bar should go across the screen for the publishing of both swf and exe
files.

Someone in my office recently had this problem as well, but I don't know if an
answer has been found. Are you on a Mac or PC? If there is a swf file in the
publish location with the same name does it disappear?

I'm on a PC, and there's no swf file because I can't get it to publish. I've
been changing the version each time I work on it, and it was publishing quite a
few versions ago. Then I worked for a while without publishing (so I don't know
when the problem began). Now I'm on version 15 of the doc, and the project is
almost done but I can't publish. I don't want to finish the project if I can't
get it out of FLA so I'm completely stuck.
