power of flash

Hi all,
I am not familiar with Adobe Flash CS3 Pro and I want to create buttons but
these buttons need to do change some of the mysql database , I am asking is a
flash button a useful in php page ? where to start ?, how to learn ?

And is that button use able only in flash ?
