I know this is a fairly old post - but I do have the same problem. I was able
to overlay a still image and add a button to start the video off with still
image instead of a black screen.
But when the video is done playing - I am back at my black screen, instead of
my image overlay with button.
How can I handle this? I am using Flash 8 btw.
