Hello,
I'm wondering if it is possible within MX to replicate some of the graphics the WSJ has done, such as the following: http://online.wsj.com/public/resourc...ine080318.html http://online.wsj.com/public/resourc...-Gold0801.html Basically, I want to present a price chart of a stock or commodity (preferably with the ability for a web user to scroll back in history on the chart), and have little flags planted on the chart that a user could scroll over and have some information pop up. Thanks for any assistance! |

Hi
Yeah, anything is possible depending on which MX version you have. MX04 would be absolute minimum. I would suggest you use XML as your structured data source and the Drawing API to render the loaded data. As for scrolling thru the timeline you could create your graph inside a movieclip and scroll it based on the mouse position. So in essence read all about XML, Drawing API and Scrolling Panels. Alternatively, you could buy a charting extension that will do everything for you. But where's the fun in that. Hope it s |
