Fireworks has always let you quickly jump to the font you want to use by
clicking the font menu and then typing the first letter of the font you want to use... but this doesn't appear to work since I installed CS3. Any ? |

As far as I remember Fireworks has always been goofy with that, compared to
Illustrator at least. You can type the first letter of the font you want, say if I wanted Helvetica, I could type "H" to get close. If I typed H-E, it would move me to H then skip to E in the list. You might be having trouble if Fireworks has memorized some of your recent fonts at the top of the list. Again if you wanted Helvetica and pressed "H" to get there, but you had recently used Haettenschweiler, Fireworks would take you to the top of the list and highlight Haettenschweiler. In this example, if you pressed H again you'd skip to the next font, hopefully past the "recent fonts" at the top, and to the proper H section further down. Being able to type out the entire name of the font to jump to it would be an awesome addition to Fireworks. Perhaps we can chase Adobe down with spears and torches or something. |

The problem is though, it doesn't matter if there are fonts saved at the top of the list, no matter what letter I type Fireworks won't jump to anything - it simply doesn't work at all. Any ideas?

Any ideas? Close Fireworks. Deleting the Fireworks Preferences text. Reload. That will reset all the defaults, and will often clear up this kind of problem. -- Linda Rathgeber [PVII] *Adobe Community Expert-Fireworks* -------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.projectseven.com Fireworks Newsgroup: news://forums.projectseven.com/fireworks/ CSS Newsgroup: news://forums.projectseven.com/css/ http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ -------------------------------------------------------------- |

If you're in Leopard, then the problem is that this feature is broken in Leopard.

This feature in Leopard is a real pain in the butt. I don't know why they didn't make it function like a browsers drop down menu.
Bad programmers! |
