That is one of the two known issues with GoDaddy. The *.php file in your connections file needs to be modified. You need to change the settings to what GoDaddy provides in your MySQL control panel. Upload the file when you make the changes. Then change the file back to the original settings. NEVER upload ("put") that file to your GoDaddy site. Remember, you have two ongoing sites, both of which have their individual needs. You have your testing site, whose location is 'localhost', and your active site, whose MySQL location is something like GIBBERISH.sercureserver.net.
