> What would cause the preview in browser not function....no matter if I set it > to firefox or interntet explorer I can't get my images to show is the page opening in the browser, but the images are X missing? simple fix- dreamweaver preferences->Preview in Browser->checkmark "preview using temp files" what the cause is: you made the image paths with site root relative paths. They start with a leading /slash. Site root relative only means something when the site is on a web server. Document relative paths are the most portable. -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ |

Here is the message I get
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet. The website is encountering problems. There might be a typing error in the address. What you can try: Diagnose Connection Problems More information This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including: Internet connectivity has been lost. The website is temporarily unavailable. The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable. The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain. If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section. For offline users You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages. To view subscribed feeds Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view. To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages) Click Tools , and then click Work Offline. Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view. I tried to follow along with the directions here but It didn't quite work right...I think maybe a setting of somekind is en/disabled Text |

> Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage this is during a local F12 preview? What is the url in the browser when it comes up with this 404 file not found? guess: you enabled a Testing Server in this site definition by accident. If you don't have asp or php or coldfusion coding, you don't need a testing server. go into the site def for editing. click the Advanced tab, and set testing server access to none. in the stupid wizard- set type of site to not dynamic or plain html -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ |

Go into the site defintion, and click the Advanced tab. click the Testing Server section. set the "access method" to NONE. that will sort it out. -- Alan Adobe Community Expert, dreamweaver http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/ |
