i am having such trouble with this, i don't know why.

my document is encoded at iso-8859-1, and the below code does not work
properly.

var email="whatever@whereever.com"
vaq subject="Javascript Aggravates Me"
var body_message="é"
var mailto='mailto:'+email+'?subject='+subject+'&body= '+body_message;
win = window.open(mailto,'emailWindow');

when it opens in a new mail window it display é not the accented e i
want to be displayed.

however, down in the body of my page if i put é it displays the
accented e.

what the hell am i doing wrong?

var body_message = "\xe9";
